Anthony Malvo began his singing career in the early 1980’s in Kingston Jamaica on the Legendary Black Star Sound System. Malvo later moved on to perform, and record with the Reggae Producer and label King Jammys during their prime.

It was on King Jammys Sound System that Anthony Malvo often teamed up with Little Twitch among others as they dominated the Jamaican dancehall scene for most of the 1980s with many jam packed sessions and sound clash victories.

On Sunday May 3rd Highlanda.net and The Honorary Citizen in association with Hilawe Entertainment and The Sound Table present a special “ROCKSTEADY 1980s Reggae Dancehall Tribute” featuring a couple of iconic figures from the 1980’s and 90’s dancehall era live from Jamaica, Anthony Malvo and Little Twitch. Veteran DJ/selector Jah Prince will also make a guest appearance for this special occasion. Doors open at 7pm, music turns up at 8pm, and admission is complimentary all night. Early arrival as always is strongly suggested for Rocksteady.
Every 1st Sunday the Sound Table, located at 483 Edgewood Avenue, hosts #RocksteadyATL with musical selections ranging from Ska, Rocksteady, early Reggae, Classic Dancehall, and Dub to contemporary Roots Reggae and Lovers Rock. The latest video from Gully Bop is now available across the globe. “Who She Want” is the title and it is a merged effort with top-flight U.K. star, Stylo-G. The project is already receiving rave reviews. Upbeat, entertaining and layered with amusing lyrics, “Who She Want” has gained acceptance on mainstream radio such as BBC and Capital XTRA. It is in high rotation on both sides of the Atlantic with HOT 97 now in the mix. The single has climbed to the top of the iTunes chart in the UK and other territories, such as Bermuda where Gully Bop has six songs on their top 20 chart.

VP Records/ Greensleeves announced the April 2015 worldwide release of Alborosie Meets King Jammy- Dub Of Thrones, a historic pairing of one of Jamaica’s most pivotal dub legends King Jammy with the modern Italian-born dubmaster Alborosie. Mixed by Alborosie at his Shengen studio and King Jammy at his studio in the Waterhouse district of Kingston, this old-school meets new-school dub battle delivers an authentic dub reggae listening experience.
The album’s throwback style and packaging captures the 1980’s reggae era and includes a fully-illustrated package by Tony McDermott, one of the illustrators of that time and today. The mostly instrumental collection will be available on CD, limited edition vinyl LP and digitally.
Alborosie and King Jammy plan to tour in support of this release throughout the summer. Dates will be announced shortly.
