This is a discussion about the musical competition known as the Jamaican sound clash.

A soundclash is a unique event where opposing sound systems pit their skills against each other.

These exciting battles are fundamental to dancehall culture and have influenced music globally.

Atlanta 45 Shootout 2013: Recap, Audio and Pictures

First off, special thanks to King AP, Juggla Promo, and Ova Di Wall  for being bold enough to promote this event in Atlanta for the last three years.  45 Shootout Champ from 2012, Dappa Lee of Innocent Sound did a solid job of hosting this year’s competition as well.  We need more of these vibes…

RECAP: Capricorn Sound was not able to make it to the venue.

 Mikey Montana of Uprising was the first to be eliminated, followed by Bojangles in the next round.

Highlanda Sound made it to the semi-final round (dubplate round) but did not advance there-after.

Danger Marcus competed well in the final round (tune fi tune) only to be out played by DJ Nolan.

Congratulations to DJ Nolan of King Eternity on the skillful victory!  A good time was had by all in attendance – download link for the audio is below.

Highlanda Declares War, 45 Shootout MLK Weekend

MLK Weekend 2013 the ATL 45 Shootout  a.k.a Last Man Standing to be held at Tropical Bamboo in Lithonia promises to be good entertainment. Squaring off will be Uprising Sound with Mikey MontanaKing Eternity with DJ NolanCapricorn SoundBojangles with Tony JanglesDanger Marcus, and top rated Highlanda Sound with Kahlil Wonda and Super Pec The Archangel.  Last year’s champ Dappa Lee from Innocent Sound will be this years host.  This competition is brought to you by King APOva Di Wall, and Juggla.
