Miss Lily’s Family Style CD Series Released on VP Records

Various Artists: Miss Lily's Family Style

Various Artists: Miss Lily’s Family Style Artwork

Known for serving up Jamaica’s freshest beats and top-notch cuisine in downtown Manhattan, Miss Lily’s has become a social and cultural hub for all things Caribbean.  The island aesthetic is reflected throughout the swanky decor of their restaurant, bakery, juice bar and variety shop – which serves as a record store, gallery space and home to internet broadcast station, Radio Lily.  Miss Lily’s Variety Shop, located directly next door to the restaurant, celebrates their first year in business and launches a brand new CD series Miss Lily’s Family Style (VP Records) on January 22.

The first installment is executive produced by Radio Lily resident DJ Max Glazer along with one of Miss Lily’s founding partners, Paul Salmon, who also owns Jamaica’s award-winning Rockhouse Hotel and co-founded Joe’s Pub in Manhattan. Enclosed in the CD’s vintage vinyl-inspired packaging are in-depth liner notes written by reggae journalist and Radio Lily DJ Rob Kenner along with a free download card of a 43-minute mix by DJ Max Glazer.

Morgan Heritage to Release Here Come The Kings Album

Morgan Heritage: Here Come The Kings

Morgan Heritage: Here Come The Kings

Following their triumphant return to Brooklyn with a performance at the Barclays Center‘s “Caribbean Fever” mega-show, Morgan Heritage is now gearing up to release the band’s first studio album since 2008. The “Royal Family Of Reggae” unleash Here Come The Kings to the world on April 23rd. The new album features the group’s signature powerhouse vocals over slick riddims from acclaimed producers such as Shane C. Brown (Juke Boxx Productions) and multiple Grammy Award nominee Jason “J-Vibe” Farmer. The bouncy lead single, “Perfect Love Song,” arrives just in time for Valentine’s Day. Peetah Morgan’s passionate lead vocal delivery, coupled with the deeply soulful stylings of Gramps on the deejay section, are sure to put lovers in the mood.

While the album is heavy on lovers content, like the pulsing “Love Stoned (ft. Busy Signal),” Here Come The Kings also includes the message music that Morgan Heritage fans have come to embrace. “Stand Up,” “Man Has Forgotten,” and “Dem Ah Run Come” serve as some of the most immediate calls to consciousness that Heritage has produced, to date.

Jamaican-based production house Jus Eazy Productions presents its latest riddim album, Absinthe, available digitally worldwide on December 11, 2012, with the pre-order available now. Boasting 12 sizzling tracks including the riddim’s instrumental, Absinthe guarantees a solid soundtrack for any party, come this holiday season.

The first single is from Jamaica’s songbird Denyque, a sexy, dancehall-tinged romantic offering titled “One More Night.” The second single, “Alcoholic,” is another certified party anthem from Future Fambo. Acclaimed dancehall artists Voicemail, Red Fox, QQ, Toi, Richie Loop and others take turns giving fans a shot of the Absinthe album (see track list below).

The creative process was amazing,” reveals producer Marlon Easy. “I got a chance to work with some really talented writers. I didn’t get to work with all the artists I had in mind but the ones that I did work with, delivered. It took me almost a year to complete 11 songs but I’m satisfied with the finished product.”

Jus Eazy Productions has been producing and releasing music globally for the past seven years, fusing multiple genres including reggae, dancehall and pop. The company was formed by two brothers, Ian Easy and Marlon Easy, hence the label name Jus Eazy. They have produced tracks for some of the biggest names in reggae and dancehall music, including Busy Signal, Christopher Martin, Anthony B, Red Fox, Voicemail and most recently, Ky-mani Marley. They have also added another esteemed notch on their belt with production for commercials for one of the biggest brands in the world, Pepsi.

Jus Eazy Productions’ Absinthe album will be available worldwide on December 11, 2012 from all major digital retailers and is distributed by FOX FUSE. For more information on Jus Easy Productions, follow their mission at Facebook.com/JusEazyProd or Twitter.com/MarlonEasy.
