The #RubADubATL, the monthly event celebrating reggae music and its sub-genres of roots, lovers rock, classic dancehall, rocksteady, dub, and ska will take place at WildPitch in downtown Atlanta on October 9, 2016, between the hours of 8 pm and 12 am.

Rub A Dub is this Sunday at The Sound Table once again.
This unique event has had a great run every second Sunday over the past 10 months and I have had a lot of fun showcasing some of the best of classic roots rock reggae records live for you. You can listen to some of the show recordings here.

A style of Jamaican Reggae emerging in the 70’s and 80’s, the term “Rub-a-Dub” comes from a dance style where the man and woman rub up very close together. This takes place every Sunday at The Sound Table located at 483 Edgewood Avenue with music by DJ Passport and also Highlanda Sound.
As you may know if you have visited this blog before, myself and The Honorary Citizen are producers of a successful 100% reggae event concept, Rub-A-Dub, which occurs on the second Sunday of every month in downtown Atlanta.
As resident DJs at Rub-A-Dub, DJ Passport and I have invited different guests to partake in the non-mainstream vibe each month.

“Rub-A-Dub” or “Rub-A-Dub Style” is described as one the genres doing the passage between Reggae and Dancehall. This is Reggae, mainly from the late 1970’s and early 1980’s, where DJ’s chanted and Singers sung over various tracks that were mixed in a dub style. Today, Rub-A-Dub files under Roots Reggae.
